Why Old School?
Aquathons or swim-run events have their origin in open water lifeguarding competitions and were originally developed to encourage fitness and skills development among lifesaving professionals around the globe. The events became more mainstream with the advent of commercial triathlons (swim-bike-run) in the 1970s. Since that time, race participation has increased to include athletes from every walk of life.
Our purpose with the Old School Aquathon series is to help keep the original spirit of the sport alive - encouraging fitness in a low-key and low-cost environment.
Get in a good workout with your friends and then chill and have a bite to eat afterwards.
No bike? No problem! This is old school!
